At the heart of kenosis is trust in God. Kenosis is less about self-mortification, suffering, or pain as erroneously purported by ascetics throughout Christianity. Kenosis is to trust God, not my flesh. Trusting God is perhaps the most significant issue that has to be settled within every man and woman who seeks to walk with God. Kenosis, therefore, is merely a means to a life of trusting God.

Kenosis (1)

You cannot claim the realities of a spiritual life according to the New Testament pattern without the workings of kenosis in your life. Kenosis was an obstacle for Satan.  Adam and Eve ignored kenosis in Eden. Kenosis has been a real problem for man throughout every era of his existence. Jesus Christ, on the other hand, had no issue with the principle of kenosis. As His disciple, do you have a problem with kenosis?

It is God’s burden for man to be a conduit for the realities of the unseen realm––the heavens. From God’s perspective, His work in the redemptive process is the recovery of His fallen image in man.
