The Christian life is about being in Christ, not about doing good. God’s economy is not about goodly people but about godly people. Phariseeism fixates on being “good” with the fruit of self-righteousness. The spiritual man fixates on Christ. Good is not the pursuit of the Christian but the fruit of living by the Holy Spirit. Within every Christian, there are 3 “experts” at war. Each “expert” lives according to its own laws and regulations and constantly seeks to overthrow the others for its own purposes. As believers, we need to understand from Romans 8:5-9 that our mind plays a crucial role within the outcome of this internal conflict.
